  Description:
  This reference design for TI CAN transceivers offers board-level ¸ß±¶ÂÖÅÌ solutions for IEC 61000-4-2 ESD, IEC 61000-4-4 EFT, and IEC 61000-4-5 surge protection. Included in the reference design are four distinct ¸ß±¶ÂÖÅÌ solutions, which help designers meet various levels of protection and provide excellent protection for TI CAN transceivers. The ¸ß±¶ÂÖÅÌ protection solutions provided are based on combinations of TVS diodes, TBUs, MOVs, Thyristors and GDTs.

  Features:

  • Easy, direct connections to banana jacks and test pads
  • Interchange four 5-V supply TI transceivers: TCAN1042 and TCAN1051 (5 Mbps FD); SN65HVD267 (2 Mbps FD); SN65HVD257 (1 Mbps FD)
  • Combined technology protects transceiver from overvoltage and overcurrent
